The following is a transcription of the Alain-Martin Richard set at Ultimatum, Friday, May 3rd, 1985 at the Foufounes Electriques. Richard is a multidisciplinary artist, editor and critic from Quebec, Canada, active since the late 70s, touring and presenting at festivals and events across North America, Europe and Japan. Previously, he was a member of the defunct international collective The Nomads and of INTER/Le Lieu from Quebec City. More recently, he has been involved with the collective Les Causes Perdues and Folie/Culture, having co-created the poetic game, "Lʹatopie textutelle est une cause qui se perd". He co-edited Performance in/au Canada 1970-1990 with Clive Robertson, the book Territoires Nomades and various catalogues and publications on art and performance. His experimental practice questions the social and the everyday, postmodernism, space and identity.
